We have been getting some brilliant photos of Maths activities at home! This week our activity is finding 1 more and 1 less than numbers to 20.
Once you have practiced this week's Maths activity together, see if your child can apply their learning in this number game! There are different options, remember to only move on to a harder level if your child is confident with 1 more and 1 less to 20.

If you want to practice finding particular numbers, read a number yourself and see if your child can paint that square or find 1 more/ 1 less

If your child is secure with finding 1 more and 1 less than any given number to 20, you may want to challenge them by learning to count in 2s, 10s and then 5s. Only have a go at these activities if they are really confident counting to and from 20 or this may set them back and become confusing!
Before they simply learn to repeat “2,4,6,8,10…” ensure they understand the concept by grouping in 2s by lining up toys in 2s, laying out pairs of socks or shoes, or grouping raisins or buttons in groups 10s.
