Remembrance Stones

Rev. Dodie came into school to work with Sycamore class on a Remembrance community project. Each child painted a stone either red or black to represent the colours of a poppy. On each stone was written the name of a solider from St Mary Bourne who had fought and died in the World Wars and whose names can also be found on the War Memorial in the village. The children were very interested in finding out about the different young soldiers and also made a temporary poppy on the school playground.

On Remembrance Sunday we will be presented these stones at the War Memorial and take part in the village act of remembrance.
