  • Cross Country Winners 2024

    Mon 26 Feb 2024

On Wednesday, 31st January 2024, a group of nervous but excited KS2 runners made their way to the fields at Charlton Lakeside for the annual rural schools cross country event. In previous years, students have experienced some awful weather conditions where they have slipped on mud or fallen over in puddles. This year, there was much relief when the rain decided to take a break, giving all 24 of our SMB runners dry conditions.

There were four races in total: years 3 and 4 girls, followed by years 3 and 4 boys. To end, it was years 5 and 6 girls before the boys from years 5 and 6 took their turn. All four races were hard fought by all of those involved with cheers and screams from the spectators (though mostly you could hear SMB children encouraging each other). It takes courage, resilience and determination to partake in any sporting event but our exceptional runners demonstrated each of these qualities in abundance and deserve to be celebrated.

St Mary Bourne were crowned the winners for 2024 and were awarded the shield, for the first time in over 5 year. Mrs Rampton was very pleased and proud of everyone.

  • Oak class Parent Share Afternoon

    Thu 16 Nov 2023

On Tuesday 14th November Oak class parents were invited into school to take part in some Autumn activities with their child and find out more about learning that is taking place in the classroom. The children and parents had the chance to make hedgehogs using clay, create Autumn crowns, make Autumn sun catchers as well as a wide range of fun activities. The biscuit decorating was very popular.
